reading

I am sometimes asked to suggest novels for students to read. This is difficult because everyone has their own interests. I do, however, suggest you try GRADED READERS - these, if you have never seen them, are books which are graded by word number and language level. They are perfect for language learners. Remember- reading should be something you do every day, it should be fun and enjoyable and not a headache.

Reading for pleasure is key to learning a language! Get something short and that you like. Below are some links to graded reader lists from just some big publishers ( there are many more out there!). You will have to spend a little while searching for your level and the type of book you want to read. - but it will be worth it.

Also, have a look in some of Madrid's English language BOOKSHOPS ( see below) or www.amazon.co.uk and www.bookdepository.com are good websites for buying online. You can also look in your university or local library.
